Dr. Nina Meyerhof Leadership Award

Jacobs-Abbey Global Institute for Leadership Studies (JAGILS) established a global leadership award named after Dr. Nina Meyerhof.

This award was created to recognize most outstanding individuals who dedicated their lives to bringing positive social change and devoted their time to fight poverty, injustice and whose accomplishment are consistent with Jacobs-Abbey Global Institute for Leadership Studies goals.

Samuel Jacobs-Abbey, the founder and president of the Jacobs-Abbey Global Institute for Leadership Studies was identified and mentored by Dr. Nina Meyerhof. Dr. Meyerhof played a significant role in mentoring, encourage and grooming Samuel Jacobs-Abbey to become a globally respected leader in the area of leadership and good governance.

Nina has made a life of advocating for children and youth as her vocation, she served as the Special Education Coordinator for a ten–school district in southern Vermont. Dr. Meyerhof has extensive background in the needs of all children, with Master of Arts degrees in both Special Education and in Counseling and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Psychology. She also holds a doctorate in Educational Policy, Research, and Administration from the University of Massachusetts, where she developed a self-esteem model to be used in schools.

Dr. Meyerhof Leadership Award is the highest award any receipt could receive from the Jacobs-Abbey Global Institute for Leadership Studies. The Award comes with a Certificate of appreciation, a meritorious award cup, and a token of $500. Awardees are encourage to donate the cash reward to a charity or support the needy.

The presentation of the award will held annually at Jacobs-Abbey Global Institute for Leadership Studies annual Excellence Gala in October.
