Oriama Deborah Ikaroot

A dedicated and passionate leader, teacher and diplomacy and international relations student, Miss Oriama has 3 years’ experience in leadership, mentorship and teaching students both in Kenya and in the United States of America. Deborah prides herself in seeing her students graduate and acquire good leadership and decision making skills.

Oriama is current undertaking a Master of Arts degree in Diplomacy at the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies at the University of Nairobi. The main aim is to acquire the relevant knowledge and skills to be able to address issues that are pertinent to the growth and development in Africa as well as the issues that affect this growth and development politically.

As mentioned above, she is currently a graduate student at the University of Nairobi and holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Arts. Oriama has always had a passion for public service and volunteering. Besides teaching, Oriama has been doing humanitarian volunteer work during school holidays.

Realizing the need in the communities I worked with towards peace is the main reason for my going back to school to gain more knowledge in development ,development and international relations with a keen interest in the environment, governance, human rights, conflict resolution and  natural resource management.

Oriama is a self-motivated, prayerful and hardworking person. Result oriented, a team player and adapts easily to new working environment. She has a desire to be part of an institution and a versatile team that delivers information and services to this generation with the truth that it is entitled to in modern, creative and innovative methods.

During her free time, Oriama finds herself playing the guitar, reading and watching basketball.
