Volunteer Opportunities

Harris in NepalCOE as a Non Governmental Organization is developing volunteer programs to cater to the specific needs in the communities where our Social Action Chapters are located. Our volunteer program is designed to face the challenges of our COE Chapter Leaders, while benefiting the communities they serve. Simultaneously, our programs provide gratifying experiences to the volunteers as they witness the social and/or environmental impact of their work.

The volunteers partake in projects developed and operated by our COE Chapter Leaders and their respective community councils. Volunteers have a unique experience by actively participating in developing communities for a more peaceful and sustainable world while creating a rich personal opportunity for cultural exchange.

The individual placements are specifically developed according to the volunteer's abilities and interests. They are ideal for those who are keen to participate in community projects. Our 2010 volunteer program is focused in Nepal with an emphasis on improving education to young children. Our 2011 programs will include the work in Nepal, South Africa and Uganda.

COE acts only as a facilitator in the placement and lodging process and all funding necessary for the implementation of each volunteer program is the responsibility of the individual volunteer and not that of COE.The success of the programs depends on the positive attitude, flexibility and the interest of the volunteers to contribute and take part in the various volunteer projects.
