At the invitation of the Shift Network, Karoline Buys and I represented Children of the Earth at the Youth Rising for Peace Global Summit.
Peace work has become a big passion for me since 2005, when I realized that violence is a global plague that deprives so many people of happiness, meaning, connection to each other, our Creator, and a life well lived. I’ve worked for building peace ever since. A big contribution has been the organizational structures where I carried out my work, among which...

Life and death. The Ganga is the Mother and the sky filled with the sun going down for the evening prayers of Aarati represents Father Sun. Across the water is the Parmath Center where Swami Chitanand lives with his devotees. One of...

Our visit to Gandhi's home of refuge and prayer was unexpected as Diane (Diane de Terra) and I wandered through the city. The museum told Gandhi's story through a series of questions and photos. But it was sitting in his little room where he and his wife spent their days that the energy of PEACE prevailed within our hearts and left us speechless. The quietude was filled with magical rain of deep peace that seemed to be sanctioned from Gandhi's own presence. We then also went to the place along...

The Rulindo District situated in the Northern Province of Rwanda, not far from Kigali, was the scene of devastation during the genocide. Almost two decades on the wounds of that genocide are still very much felt, and reconciliation in the area is a necessary and continuous task. In light of this, Shalom Educating for Peace (an organization in collaboration with COE) has been involved in the creation of a dialogue space where people may come to discuss their stories and find restoration. In this...
